Thanks to our 2019 ClubGRANTS supporters – Jon Chin JP, MSN Chair

Mentor Support Network’s ability to help students who are in financial need via our Educational Scholarship Program is very much dependent on the support of our corporate sponsors.

I was privileged to have attended two ClubGRANTS cheque presentation events in early August to receive, on behalf of MSN, funding from a number of local clubs, including some that have supported our Educational Scholarship Program since its inception in 2008

ClubGRANTS is designed to ensure that larger clubs in NSW contribute to the provision of front-line services for their local communities; and to ensure that the disadvantaged in the community are better positioned to benefit from the substantial contributions made by those clubs.

On behalf of MSN, I would like to thank the following six local clubs that have helped us with their generous financial support for the 2020 scholarships program:Belmont 16 Foot Sailing Club, Beresfield Bowling Club; East Maitland Bowling Club; Hexham Bowling Club; Mayfield Ex-Services Club; and Toronto Workers Club.

The MSN Educational Scholarships program has been financially supported by the ClubGRANTS program since 2008.Over the years since then support has come from 12 clubs. In addition to those listed above the following clubs have, at different times, also supported the scholarships program:Adamstown RSL Club; Cardiff Panthers; Cardiff RSL Club; Kahibah Sports Club; Soldiers Point Bowling Club; and Wests Newcastle.

These contributions when combined with those from other local corporations and individuals, have allowed our program to increase from seven scholarship recipients in 2009 to 31 in 2019.We are optimistic that this year we will again be able to provide 30 scholarships to local students to fund their education in 2020.
