At the April AGM the following were re-appointment to the MSN committee:Coral Baldwin, Paul Battle, Jon Chin (chair), Chris Cull (treasurer), Katherine Heinrich (secretary), Jane Kift (scholarships chair), Nick Killin, Pat O’Flaherty and Bob Purser (vice-chair).  In addition we are delighted to announce the election of Tony McLaughlin.

Tony’s experience in education ranges from his first appointment in a one-teacher school, to teaching K-6 in country and city schools, to his role as Transition Coordinator at All Saints College in Bathurst where he was Head of English, Languages and Drama for 10 years.

On moving to Newcastle Tony became the Priority Schools Consultant for the Hunter Central Coast in support of 36 selected Primary and High Schools throughout the Hunter and Central Coast serving a low socio-economic base and later Equity Coordinator with responsibilities for supporting schools with refugee students, English as a second language students and anti-racism staff training across the Hunter.

More recently he established the Education Consulting and Education Counseling company, Big Steps Education.Tony is excited by the opportunity to bring his expertise the MSN, an organization that supports students from compromised backgrounds achieve their potential.As he says:“The future is exciting as it should be.”
