MSN Mentor Training Opportunities

MSN Mentor Training Opportunities
Julie Fraser with participants at the May training.

Our first two-day mentor training program for the year took place on 4 and 11 May at Club Macquarie in Argenton (many thanks to the club for their hospitality). There were thirteen registrations – some for the first day only and others for both days. Participants from Verto, Muloobinba, HVTC, Newcastle Mens’ Shed and Mens’ Shed Youth Mentoring were joined by three members of the MSN executive.

A second offering of the program is planned for Friday 31 August and Friday 7 September. If you are interested in attending please contact Paul Battle directly at paul.battle@mentorsupportnetwork.com.au or 0414 213 001.

Julie Fraser (our trainer) is also working with MSN on the design of the mentor training component for our new pilot project “MSN Education and Career Scholarships for Youths from a Refugee Background”. The project will be delivered in partnership with the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation and with the assistance of Northern Settlement Services.

Within the next few months there will be a call for mentors for this new program.
